We have been Spring cleaning!!

Primary A, B and C have been busy carrying out our annual Spring clean.  We all came together to learn about recycling and sorting our rubbish into different bins.  Linsey lead a great session with some songs about litter picking and recycling.  We then all went outside to collect any litter we could find and sort it into the correct bins.  Well done everyone and thank you Linsey for organising it all.

Primary D went on a snail hunt!

Yesterday Primary D were outside on a ‘snail hunt’ as part of our topic work – ‘All things bright and beautiful’ searching for ‘all creatures great and small’.

Both pupils and staff loved closely exploring these fabulous little guys!

After giving them some tasty salad to eat we returned them to their home, in our sensory garden.

Music Therapy

We had our first session of Music Therapy on Tuesday and felt very inspired. The sessions are child led and fully immersive. Our class made a funny song up about ice cream. We can’t wait till next week for more. It really was lovely to watch the children enjoy expressing themselves through song. They adored the sounds of drums banging, guitars strumming and the chimes.

Our Caterpillars were ready to transfer to their Butterfly net at last! We made our very own version of the delicious ‘Colin The Caterpillar cake’ and shared it with our friends in the department. Here’s hoping that when we return after our long weekend we have some beautiful butterflies to release back to nature.

Warmest Wishes

Sunny days & Spray paint

This week has been so beautiful and sunny. We have enjoyed exploring nature outdoors, taking the classroom outside (in our fancy gazebo)  and our  spray painting session with edible chalk. We love the effect this makes on textured paper. It has been our favourite way to learn about and experience colour. Look out for more examples of our artwork soon. We enjoyed a very regal lunch this afternoon with themed cupcakes, and savoury  dishes to celebrate the big day on Saturday 😊. Lastly a quick update on how our caterpillars are getting on…. they have almost tripled in size. Hope  you enjoy our photos and we hope you have a fabulously festive weekend.

Warmest wishes from the Primary A team
