Children 1st & Police Scotland

Pilot Project started Nov 2020 – Police Scotland and Children’s 1st Project

The project is first of its kind in North Ayrshire. It encourages young people to reflect on their actions in school and in the community. It promotes partnership working not only between Children 1st, Police Scotland and the school but encourages staff to contribute. By identifying young people who are finding it difficult to engage and listening to their views and aspirations it is hoped that we have get beneath what is behind their behaviour not only in school but in the local community. It works very much on the basis of All Behaviour is Communication.

Staff involved at the planning stage – J Doyle, C Boax, E Young, J Greenlees, C Doig, P MacDougall, G Dunker, Sergeant Raymond Ferguson and Kirsty Ferguson from Children 1st.

Pupil group involved at the planning stage.

Kirsty Ferguson from Children 1st has offered to work with groups of staff to listen to views. This will feed into the project.
