Message from Head Teacher

It is a privilege to introduce myself the Head Teacher of Greenwood Academy.  I am delighted to welcome you to our school blog, where you will find a range of information about the school.

Greenwood Academy is a vibrant and caring learning community where the needs and aspirations of our young people are at the heart of our planning and day to day practice. We value high academic standards and one of our key functions as a school is to ensure that everyone within the school community achieves their full potential.

Greenwood Academy pupils experience increasing levels of challenge as they develop skills for learning, life and work. Our staff and partners provide well-planned opportunities for learners to develop an awareness of the world of work. Pupils also have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities.

I believe that a strong partnership with parents/carers is a crucial factor in safeguarding the success of our young people. Together we take positive and proactive steps to ensure that barriers to learning are minimised and promote an inclusive learning environment. I look forward to working in partnership with you to ensure that your child is given every opportunity to achieve success at Greenwood Academy.
