If you are the parent or carer of a child at Bishopmill Primary School, you are a member of the Parent Forum. The Parent Forum is represented in the school by two groups, the Parent Council (PC) and the Parent Teacher Forum (PTF).
The Parent Council generally discusses school policies, both local and national, and their application within the school.
The Parent Teacher Forum seeks to raise funds for a variety of projects in the school by organising events such as the school disco, ceilidh and social functions for parents/carers.
Meetings for the two groups are on the same evening and run consecutively so that parents can attend both groups if they wish. There are many parents who are members of both groups. Both groups have a chair and secretary who are voted into post at either the annual general meeting or the first meeting directly after.
The Parent Teacher Forum also has a treasurer to control the PTF account. These posts are designated as ‘office bearer’ posts and are the only ones that require a vote to be selected.
There is a constitution above that gives greater detail of the running of the PC/PTF.
Please come along and join in if you feel you would like to be involved.
