Parental Engagement

Here at Wemyss Bay, our parents are very much valued members of our school community. We value the importance of involving parents in the life of the school and in their engagement with children’s learning.

We will strive to ensure that you are:

  • Welcomed and involved in the life of the school
  • Fully informed about your child’s education and learning
  • Able to support learning at home
  • Encouraged to express your views and take part in decision making
  • Involved in forums for discussion and debate on educational policy in relation to Learning and Teaching

There are a number of ways parents can become more involved with learning and teaching in school:

  • Become part of our Parent Partnership
  • Supporting curricular initiatives where you knowledge and skills can enhance our provision
  • Consultation and contributing to our Self Evaluation through discussion groups and  school questionnaires
  • Sharing your feedback following parent evenings / Pupil Progress reports feedback
  • Dialogue at Parents Evenings
  • Induction days and curriculum events
  • School shows and special events throughout the year
  • Meet the teacher days in each class
