St Stephen’s High School Computing Science.
Computing Science is the biggest area of transition and development seen in this millennium so far. You can not even switch on the TV without activating a computer system.
The aim of Computer Science is to enable pupils to acquire appropriate, transferable Computational thinking skills, knowledge and understanding – progression must feature in the acquisition of those Computing skills from First to Sixth year.
All staff should then feel confident that pupils have a basic level of Computing capability which can be applied to pupil’s learning in a specific area of the Curriculum. Pupils should feel confident enough with their transferable skills that they are encouraged to use unfamiliar software, explore new areas and forge their own future!
