What we think

In S1 we encourage all pupils to complete home learning (homework) tasks in the following formats;

  • processes diary completed after each lessons
  • online reading using PowerPoints
  • online assessments
  • graphics task related to in class learning.
  • revision work to support Challenge 50

We have created 15 home learning tasks which help support the learning which has taken place within the department. Their aim is to be both meaningful and challenging. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to leave a comment in the space on our department homepage. Alternatively, contact your teacher via their profile on the right hand side of this page.

Why should you do it?

We want the very best for you and home learning will offer you a challenge and will support your in-class learning. The home learning tasks are designed in a way to help you improve your literacy and numeracy skills which are really important.

When’s it for?

Your teacher will monitor your progress throughout the year and set each task giving a deadline. We will give you feedback on how well you did. We will also assess progress which will form part of your report card.

Paperless department

We are always trying to reduce our environmental impact and develop understanding about learning for sustainability. We are also aware that it may be difficult to access the online homework tasks so we will hand out a paper copy if requested or allow access to PCs at interval, lunchtime or after school.
