Outdoor Play

Children have a natural instinct to explore and discover using their senses and motor skills. Through their discoveries, children master essential life skills such as problem solving, concentration and         decision making.

The children are offered daily experiences to explore the outdoor environment exploring tyres or using them to create an outdoor         garage or working together to fix a bicycle. The possibilities are         endless.

We also have a wide range of ‘loose parts’ materials for the children to explore outdoors promoting creativity and imagination.

Being out in the rain is a multi-sensory          experience and         provides many         learning                              opportunities. It can provide good life skills to develop          children’s senses and learn about weather.

Children often have the opportunity to attend outings to local beaches, parks and          wooded areas developing their skills to assess and manage risks to keep themselves safe and    develop physical skills through movement and                  energetic play.

Clothing

We ask if possible for each child to bring their own welly boots to nursery and a change of clothing. The nursery will           provide appropriate waterproof                       clothing  for all children to explore outdoors.
