The boys and girls were working on number matching, and number matching. Also working with hand , eye coordination to throw the ball softly into the cup.

On our nature walks we spotted lots of flora and fauna, we took pictures and used them for a scavenger hunt the next day. We found horses hoof fungi, buttercups, slugs, acorns, hawthorn berries and roots from the tree. The children had discussions of all the different parts of the tree.

Today was our mudslide day during our nature week. We have been Β exploring the great outdoors within our centre grounds. Our children have been turn taking, taking on leadership, being responsible, included, problem solved and developed new friendships.

We believe that outdoors has fabulous benefits to children and their health and social skills. It Is an environment where children feel free and independent. Our staff are enjoying this too !!

Caterpillar to butterfly πŸ›πŸ¦‹ wk beginning 19/07/21

This week out caterpillars have changed quite a lot. We now have cocoons. The children are developing their understanding of life cycles and we have been looking at our new books that have been delivered. We have then discussed what comes first and sorting the life cycle sequence.

We have written some of the words that associated with our current interest.

Children have also started to explore the butterfly and we looked at the wings of the butterfly, one child noticed that β€œboth sides are the same”.
