Since the Wordle website would not work on my laptop, I decided to create a mind map with all the words relating to being a professional/professionalism that I could think of.

Very interesting analysis here. I wonder if the colours signify particular categories? You may be interested in this article – it is rather theoretical but considers the very nature of professionalism and professional development.

I’d be interested to see what you think.
Thank you for the article! It was quite interesting, especially after completing our 1CM1 Assignment on professionalism. I thought it was particularly thought-provoking whenever it discussed how the ideas and expectations of a professional are developed within the profession, rather than being imposed on the person by other agencies. This is because when writing my own assignment, I reflected on the influence of society on what is viewed as a professional, and how occupations such a medicine are socially constructed to be held in greater esteem. I suppose though with teaching, the Standards for Registration and the Codes of Professional Conduct are the expectations that the profession has of teachers.
It seems to me that the core element of professionalism is supporting and exemplifying the shared values of (whichever) profession: in our case these are identified in the Professional Standards
I would agree, and I believe that the words in the mind-map above can all in some way be related to the Professional Standards.
