Supported Study Sway 

Many Senior Phase pupils are preparing for assessments shortly. There are useful links and resources available in our FVWL RIC Supported Study Sway. This can be freely shared with learners and parents and carers.

National e-Learning Offer (NeLO)

It is important to note that the National e-Learning Offer is continuing to grow and develop across all three elements: Supported Study Resources, e-Sgoil live lessons and West OS Recorded sessions. This provides a bank of high-quality learning and teaching resources which can be used in class, studying at home, those who are unable to attend school currently including those who are affected by COVID.

West OS FVWL 

West OS, the recorded element of the National e-Learning offer, continues to be available for BGE and Senior Phase. There are currently over 2500 videos available and more are being added all the time. These can be support group work, consolidation work, carousel activities, bi-level classes and independent learning. West OS is accessed via the West OS tile on GLOW.

BGE – There is an increasing range of BGE resources, including a pathway focus on Second Level Literacy. This is accessed via the West OS tile on GLOW.

Senior Phase – There has been a series of publications of interactive pdfs for some subjects which have had additional resources to support learning. Links to interactive pdfs Videos are accessed via the West OS tile on GLOW.

Secondment Opportunity

An exciting Secondment opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced GTCS registered staff member currently employed by Clackmannanshire, Falkirk, Stirling and West Lothian Councils to improve educational outcomes in Health and Wellbeing across the collaborative in line with local, national and regional priorities.  The following post is available:

Health and Wellbeing Principal Teacher (PT (4) – £50,772)  

The Forth Valley and West Lothian Regional Improvement Collaborative are offering an exciting opportunity to primary and secondary teachers with outstanding records for learning and teaching in Health and Wellbeing to work collaboratively with colleagues across our region. The successful applicants will work with schools across the RIC delivering training and supporting colleagues in schools to achieve excellence in this area.  You will report to the RIC Development Officer.  A job outline is attached.

This post provides a Secondment opportunity on a full time basis for a period of 12 months initially.  The duration of the Secondment will be subject to review.  If successful, you will continue to be employed by your existing employer.
