You can ’embed’ an O365 form in a blog by pasting the url into a post on a line by itself. Eg: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=oyzTzM4Wj0KVQTctawUZKSmIYBesqWVJqR5zz1mWNAVUOU1CUzVWOVFRUjc5RFcxQlJPTlhXMFVUNS4u
Update 14 Aug 2024 After some problems with Sway embeds in Glow Blogs due to changes in microsoft urls we have developed a better way to embed these.
All you do is copy the embed code from a Sway and paste that into the Post or Page editor in Glow blogs. When you paste it it changes from the html code to a shortcode. Like this:
[glowsway attribute=WR42BzNQhsCisIAW]
When you publish it will look like this:
You need to do this in the classic editor. If you use the Block editor you need to add a classic block and paste it in there. Here is a very short video showing the process in both editors.
This is a quick example of how to use the slideshare embed code. You can upload PowerPoints and other presentations to slideshare.net to share. These can then be embedded.
As always if you have not done so:
Activate The Jetpack plugin
Turn on the shortcode module.
To find the code to embed a slideshare slideshow:
Visit the page on slideshare.
Click the Share button
Copy the WordPress shortcode
In the post or page editor of your blog paste in the code. When the post or post is published and viewed the slideshow will be embedded like the one above.
This slideshow could not be started. Try refreshing the page or viewing it in another browser.
Shortcode Presentation
You can use your blog to create a presentation with the [presentation ] shortcode.
Rotation, oh boy
Select different slide transitions
Rotate and scale slides
Choose colours or images for slide backgrounds
Set transition durations and sizes
[slide rotate=45 slide bgcolor=#d3e7f8]
A wee bit of scale.
[slide scale=5]
I an not sure how often this would be useful in practise. You need to be happy writing square brackets and slashed around your text, but it produced a reasonable presentation.
You can move through the slides with arrow keys, or hover over from buttons and a button to ‘full-screen’ the slideshow.
Just paste in a youtube url and the player is embedded.
You can also paste in the embed code from YouTube and it will be converted to a shortcode, this is handy if you want to customise the video size or other options. For example avoid showing related videos.
Alternatively you can add ?rel=0 after the url before pasting it in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2wrYBPLsxg?rel=0
Which will hide related videos.
Or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMmwxn7XBkw&w=600&h=600rel=0 which allows you to control the dimensions.
If you are wanting to do more than embed one or two videos you might find the Embed Plus for YouTube plugin handy.
