I chose this for my MA2 elective because I wanted to improve my knowledge of mathematical concepts and I wanted to increase my confidence when teaching mathematics in my future placements. In MA1, I was very nervous at the idea of teaching maths in my placement as it was something that I had never taught before. However, I found it very intriguing as I managed to develop strategies to explain mathematical concepts and, ultimately, this boosted my confidence. I am very looking forward to this elective and to see how my confidence develops as a practitioner.
