The British Council’s Connecting Classrooms initiative is designed for exactly this sort of purpose, you can find out about the programe at schoolsonline.britishcouncil.org/programmes-and-funding/linking-programmes-worldwide/connecting-classrooms/partnerships. They’re also working with the BBC and Commonwealth Secretariat on a Glasgow 2014-specific programme called Commonwealth Class, find out more about that at http://www.gameonscotland.org/yourgames/commonwealthclass.
