In PE, we played dodgeball, which was great fun and helped us develop our teamwork, coordination and communication skills.
During STEM, we designed and created our own conveyor belts. This activity encouraged us to think like engineers as we experimented with mechanisms, problem-solving and creative design.
We also worked in groups to present a “Small Object, Big Story” narrative. This helped us develop our imagination, collaboration skills and ability to build detailed, descriptive stories from simple ideas. We then individually wrote our own stories for an object, giving them a whole new life.
Another writing task involved creating a recount of our visit to the pantomime last week. This gave us the opportunity to practise using past-tense verbs, sequencing events and reflecting on our experiences.
In reading, we answered comprehension questions about our class novel, “The Girl Who Stole an Elephant.” This helped us focus on understanding characters, themes and key details in the text.
We got into the festive spirit by making Christmas art, allowing us to explore artistic skills and express our creativity.
We also continued our weekly swimming lessons, we learned different strokes and even got to practice a length in the big pool.
Two years ago, our school community came together to raise funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity. Cancer impacts countless lives in different ways, and the Beatson continues to make an incredible difference through its compassionate care and unwavering support.
