Promoting positive behaviour

St Conval’s school rules consist of three easy to remember statements:

* Respect yourself
* Respect others
* Respect property

and all pupils are encouraged to never settle for second best in their attitude, behaviour, manners and work.

Central to our approach to promoting positive behaviour is a ‘traffic-light’ system which is in place in every classroom across the whole school. A consistent set of sanctions are used from P1-7, and these are designed to give pupils the incentive to modify their behaviour quickly and ensure they stay on, or move back up onto, green. A copy of our traffic light chart can be seen by clicking on the link below.

Of course, our traffic-light system sits within the context of an extremely positive school ethos where effort and good behaviour are continually recognised, rewarded and celebrated. Our rewards include class points, Pupil of the Week certificates, Tea with Mr Young and the Cool Class Cup.
