Our text this term is Divided City by Theresa Breslin. A story set at the time of writing (2005) in Glasgow – our home city! It is a really important novel for Glasgow school children as it looks at the history of Glasgow and some of the reasons for rivalry between different groups of people.

This book also fits perfectly with the St. Albert’s whole school focus of ‘Migration’ for the term because one of the characters is an asylum seeker. We’ll be learning the differences between:

• immigrant;
• asylum seeker; and
• refugee.
