Fitness From Home

Hello there everyone,

During your time away from school and over the holidays you need to remember to keep active and fit!

You can do this in may different ways from active sports in the garden with your family, You can go for a long run (Which i am doing every couple days), you could make yourself and exercise class or follow Joe wicks Exercise class on Youtube. (Link at the bottom of the page)

If you do want to make a exercise class I am here to help!

Pick 4 or 5 of these exercises (Sit ups, Lunges, Star Jumps, Plank, Burpes, Push Ups, Mountain Climbers and Sport Running)

Once you have picked four set a time limit for each exercise of 60 seconds and repeat it 2 times each to stay fit and healthy!

Try it yourself and Have fun!

Yoga! Yoga! Yoga!

Namaste!

Our school as been very lucky enough to have Tracy our new yoga teacher come in and use her experience to help us with our mediation, relaxation and yoga poses. All our Classes are getting involved with P6 showing us how it’s done below!!

We have all been learning new breathing techniques and exercises to help focus our minds and to help us relax with Tracy, trying to control our breathing and channel our energy. We have also learned some great yoga poses so far we know Warrior 1, 2 and 3! As well as Dog, Sphinx, Child Pose and Tree.

This has been a great addition to our school time table and the extra practice during school and at home will help us all achieve a healthier lifestyle and also help with relaxation in our own time. Thank you Tracy!!!

Primary 7s Burns Ceilidh

Primary 7 enjoyed attending the Burns Ceilidh at Holyrood Sports Centre. They learned how to dance the Gay Gordons, The Military Two Step, the Canadian Barn Dance, Strip the Willow, The Dashing White Sergeant and even squeezed in a Steps song as part of their warm up!; we had 5..6…7…8…in our heads all day after that!

Ceilidhs are sweaty occasions…we were tired afterwards! Thank you for inviting us along and to the Sports Leaders who organised and ran the event!
