Clydesdale cricket festival

Primary 6  boys and girls were invited to the Clydesdale cricket festival and had a wonderful time competing against other Primary schools across Glasgow.

Basketball trophy final

Nine boy and girls had an exciting Sunday afternoon watching the Basketball finals trophy at the Emirates arena. The children were mainly cheering for both of the Leicester teams and enjoyed watching a high level of performances of all four teams.

Langside College rugby festival

Eleven boys and girls from St Albert`s got the afternoon off to compete in a rugby festival. The event was held at Langside College and the Sports College students ran the event. The school competed in 7 team events, which had a scoring system for each station. Overall St Albert`s finished SECOND out of seven school competing at the festival. All the staff at the school were joyed with excitement on hearing the news on how well the boys and girls did at the College. Well done guys!!

Dance & Rugby after school club fun

Terms 2018/2019 has been fantastic for all the boys and girls at St Albert`s doing sports activities. The school is very lucky to have community links and national governing bodies outside of the school leading after school clubs. Big thank you to Langside College, Glasgow city Active Schools, UTD sports and many more for all their hard work over the past 3 terms.

Super 7`s Athletics event

Well done to the six boys and six girls who competed in the Super 7`s Athletics event on Wednesday at the Emirates arena. Each pupil competed in 6 separate events and finished within a team relay. Their were 19 schools competing in the South end district for Glasgow at the Emirates arena and their was a lot of competition!

A big shout out to Emaan (pictured at the top with her medal) who finished 1st in the shot putt individuals girls event ! Congratulations Emaan you made the school proud! Their were 11 other pupils who competed and represted the school fantastically! Although they didn’t come back with any medals they received a St Albert`s welcome from all the staff and pupils on their return!

Football Mad!

Primary 7 pupils (below) are regularly going to a football tournament each month until the summer. Each month the pupils are competing against other schools across the south of Glasgow and are all growing with confidence. Keep up the good work guys!

Soccer 4`s Football Festival

Nine lucky Primary 4 children represented the school at a football festival at Toryglen football centre. All the children scored lots of goals and were extremely excited throughout the whole festival. They represented the school very well and St Albert`s Primary were so proud of their efforts! Well done Guys!!!

Badminton festival tournament

This week some of the Primary 7 boys and girls from St Albert`s were invited to play at Holyrood  Secondary School for the badminton heats. Eight pupils (underneath) played very well and won several games. Although they didn`t make the final 3, they still enjoyed their time at the facility and left with big smiles on their faces.

Miss Cohen`s Athletics Class

Miss Cohen`s Primary 7 class have been doing some javelin throwing and standing long jumps. All this preparation is going towards the athletics festival in January. Hopefully all this practise will pay off for the Primary 7 boys and girls.

 

 

Cricket Club

The school enjoys playing lots of sports and cricket seems to be one of the most popular. Here are some the St Albert`s pupils playing some continuous cricket and  doing catching drills at the after school club. Its safe to say their have `wicket` of a good time.
