Primary 3b Wallacewell Primary

This week in P3B

This week in class we have been busy learning across many different areas of the curriculum.

In Numeracy, we have been working hard on addition and subtraction of 2-digit numbers. We have been using different strategies and practical resources to help us solve calculations accurately and build our confidence with numbers.

In Literacy, we have been developing our explanation writing skills. We wrote informative pieces about the school bird that visits our playground, explaining how we can look after it and rescue a lost bird. We focused on organising our ideas clearly and using interesting facts to engage our readers.

As part of our IDL topic, World of Sports, we visited the playroom to design our own school mascot. We worked collaboratively to design and draw our creations, using our creativity and teamwork skills.

We also completed our Word Aware activities, where we explored new vocabulary and practised using words in different contexts to deepen our understanding.

In Health and Wellbeing, we enjoyed playing a game of Guess Who? with a healthy and unhealthy foods theme. This helped us identify foods that support a healthy lifestyle while encouraging discussion and critical thinking.

We were also delighted to welcome lots of visitors into our classroom this week. They enjoyed seeing our learning in action and were very impressed with the high standard of work, positive attitudes, and enthusiasm shown by everyone. We were proud to share our achievements and demonstrate all the hard work we have been putting into our learning.

It has been a fantastic week of learning and achievement!
