Experiences, Outcomes and Awards

Health and Wellbeing is a key component of Curriculum for Excellence.  Throughout each young person’s school journey they will engage with and be assessed using the experiences and outcomes of Health and Wellbeing.   All of these experiences and outcomes can be found via the following link:  https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/public/HealthandWellbeingWebsite/uploads/sites/7915/2013/08/health_wellbeing_experiences_outcomes_tcm4-5400311.pdf

Responsibility of All

All subject areas in the school have a responsibility to contribute to the Health and Wellbeing of young people.  Education Scotland produced a summary sheet to specifically highlight what outcomes of Health and Wellbeing are the ‘Responsibility of All’ subjects.  The summary sheet can be found here:

In King’s Park Secondary we have a quartet of subjects (PE, HE, PSE and ART) who take the lead on our Health and Wellbeing ‘Responsibility of All’ outcomes.  Below you will find a link to a table of how we meet a number of the outcomes in our curricular areas.

Planning for Choices and Changes

Learners need to experience opportunities which are designed not only to raise their awareness of future choices but also raise their expectations and aspirations. They develop the skills for personal planning and making decisions in the context of curriculum, learning and achievement which will prepare them for next stages in life.
Learners should experience activities which enable them to develop the skills and attributes they will need if they are to achieve and sustain positive destinations beyond school. Demands and employment patterns are changing, so it is particularly important for all young people to develop high levels of skill and also an understanding of the world of work, training and lifelong learning so that they can embrace opportunities.
