Anne McLaughlin loves Glasgow North East for many reasons, but believes it doesn’t always have the best image. So she set the people of the North East a challenge to change that. Members of the public were invited to send her their favourite photos of where they live: the hidden gems, forgotten treasures, and potential jewels. Today the Dogs Trust visited Balornock Primary. We met Alfie the dog and his owner Allison. We learned how to care for a dog and even got to teach Alfie some tricks. Here are some pictures of us during the visit.
We all had a fantastic time at the Rookie Rockstar Reunion tour. We rocked out to some old classics and some more familiar jams from our recent Rookie Rockstar concert. Thank you to the Rookie Rockstars Team for making it a memorable day for us all.
P3/2 have been learning about the Vikings. We have been busy making long ships, decorating swords, shields and spears with Viking letters (runes).
The Rookie Rockstars will return to Balornock Primary School tomorrow for a one off reunion concert. We are looking forward to welcoming them back to our school and we can wait to see what surprises they have in store for us.

Today some boys and girls from P1 to P6 got to visit Sky Academy. The children got to visit behind the scenes on an exclusive tour of Sky Studios in Livingston and worked with all the latest technology to make their own TV report in Sky Skills Studios. They made a video report of our Big Balornock Story – Forgetful Hamish, that was created by the whole school as part of our Literacy Week.
Look what arrived today! We are so excited to have received our Rookie Rockstar CD’s. For those who ordered a CD, your copies will be distributed tomorrow. Make sure to check in school bags when pupils return home. The final day to order a copy is Wednesday the 25th of May 2016.
We had lots of fun during Health Week. We went power walking to Springburn Park, took part in Gymnastics lessons and played with the Mega Ball.
