Using The Green Cross Code… in Partnership with P7b
Today the STARS Team and JRSO’s led a workshop all about the Green Cross Code and how to cross the road safely. They discussed the 6 steps of the Green Cross Code:
THINK – is this a safe place to cross?
STOP – at the pavement near the kerb.
LOOK/LISTEN – for traffic all around. Look left and right!
WAIT – till it is safe to cross, let traffic go by.
WALK – straight across, looking and listening as you cross.
ARRIVE ALIVE – on the other side!
Next they discussed different types of crossings and how to use each of these to cross the road safely!
So far P7a, P6a, P1a and P1b have attended their workshop. P1’s were reminded how important it is to hold an adults hand when crossing the road, helping to keep them safe.
