Primary 7 Party πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸ’œπŸŽ‚

Thank you P7 for coming today to celebrate your last day of primary school. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

I absolutely loved seeing you all. I can’t believe how grown up you all are and I was so happy to see you all having fun. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

We hope you enjoyed the drummer, the dancing, the food and cakes, receiving your certificates and being piped out by Seumas (pronounced Shaymis).

Β I’m so proud of each and every one of you and know that you are ready for your next adventure at secondary school. Take care of yourself and take care of each other. Please stay in touch. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Here are some photos and videos of our fun today.Β

TedEd – how we are helping to recover our planet. 🌏😍

Happy Thursday guys πŸ’œπŸ’œ

I think it’s going to be a beautiful day today and I can’t wait to see some of you when you come to pick up your reports. 😊😊

Primary 7, remember you are picking up your reports on Tuesday at the P7 leavers event. I sent a text with all the details to an adult in your house. Can you let me know if you are definitely coming on Tuesday as we need to know numbers for food. Abeeha, Junaid, Auzair, Zaynab and Yahya have all said they are definitely coming so far. It would be amazing to see all 16 of you there. 😍😍

Tasks –

I was reading this TedEd talk earlier and watched the animation. It made me feel so happy inside. It made me feel hopeful that our planet is recovering and made me feel proud that we are all helping towards letting the trees and plants grow, allowing the animals to enjoy more of the land, cuttingΒ  down on pollution and so much more.

Follow the link and read how we are helping our planet, just by following the rules and staying indoors, not travelling on planes or in cars for long journeys. Watch the animation too as I think it’s beautiful. Leave a comment and tell me what you think.Β

Literacy – use your knowledge of speech marks to complete today’s grammar task. Remember when we learned this in class, we split it up into steps.Β

Hope to see some of you today and if not, have an amazing day. ❀️❀️

Missing you all lots,Β

Piano pros 🎹🎼

Check out Coral playing the piano, I’m so impressed with her skills. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Coral even has the skills to teach other people to play the piano. She taught Jaidon how to play this tune too. You’re so talented Coral. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Some info, some tasks and some of your fantastic work. πŸ“πŸ˜

Hey everyone, hope you’re all OK. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

I have spoken to some of you this week on the phone or in person which has been amazing. It’s great to hear from you! I hope every P7 who is going to their high school visit this week has the best time. Remember, Holyrood visits were yesterday and today, Lourdes is on Friday and Bellahouston will be different days so make sure you remind your parents to check their texts and emails. Good luck on your visits and I will contact later to find out how you got on. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

See below a letter from Mrs Harker explaining some things that are happening. Can you please translate this for your parents if necessary so that they fully understand what has been said? It’s really important that you and your parents check the school Facebook, Twitter and blogs to keep up to date with what is happening.Β

Auzair has been extremely busy with his maths work. He is challenging himself and learning new things – making sure he is ready for maths in secondary school. Well done Auzair, you’re making me very proud. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Another reminder for P7 to send me a clip of themselves (no longer than 30 seconds) for our P7 leavers video. In your video, you could say what our school means to you, your favourite thing about our school, advice to future P7s etc. WhatsApp me your clip please.

Have a great day, get outside for some fresh air and exercise. Be kind to everyone you meet today.

Lots of love,Β

Tuesday PE and The World’s Largest Online Lesson.

Good morning P6/7 and happy Tuesday πŸ₯°β€οΈ

I hope you’re all good and finding lots to do to keep you occupied. Β Thank you to everyone who is commenting on the blog and keeping in touch, it makes me very happy hearing from you. I would say Abeeha is definitely winning with the number of comments she is posting to us, thanks Abeeha. πŸ€£πŸ’œ

I’ve been in school for the past few weeks clearing and painting and getting the place ready for you guys to return. It is looking so much better and I can’t wait to see you thrive in your new learning environment. 🀩🀩

Today’s tasks are filled with fun. Watch the time lapse below of me doing my PE this morning. I want you to complete these exercises too and hopefully you will feel warm afterwards and your heart rate will be raised. Remember, it is so important to stay active – it’s great for your physical health and also your mental health.
The set is 20 squats, 20 Russian twists and a 20 second plank. Complete 3 sets with a 30 second rest in between each set so it should look like this –

  1. 20 squats followed by 20 Russian twists followed by a 20 second plank
    Rest for 30 seconds
  2. 20 squats followed by 20 Russian twists followed by a 20 second plank
    Rest for 30 seconds
  3. 20 squats followed by 20 Russian twists followed by a 20 second plank
Sets all complete. Rest time but continue to move your body (You could go a short walk) to ensure you don’t get achy muscles afterwards.

This afternoon at 4 o’clock, The World’s Largest Online Lesson is going live!!!! Make sure you follow the link below and tune in at 4 o’clock as this lesson is going to be fantastic.

Monday Literacy – Punctuation Practice and Adding Adjectives.

Good morning beautiful children πŸ’œπŸ’œ Today is the start of a new week. Our 13th week of being at home. I can’t believe 13 weeks have went by since we’ve been in school together. I’m missing all the laughs so much and I’m feeling hopeful that we will be able to be together again soon.

In the meantime, I’ve found some literacy tasks for you to do because I know you LOVE that. 😊😜  These tasks are revision of grammar you have already learned so try and have a go at them independently.

I like this first one as it is short and sweet but allows you to practice all of your punctuation.

I chose this next activity as I thought you’d find it fun to do. Think creatively and add some spectacular adjectives to complete this piece of writing.

Enjoy your day. Be safe, go out and get some fresh air and be kind. Remember how great you feel when someone is kind to you? Make someone else feel like that today. 😊πŸ₯°

Sending you lots of love and hoping for happy days to come,

Miss McCue xx

Writing and Science Friday πŸ“πŸš€

Good morning P6/7 πŸ’œπŸ’œ

I hope you’ve had a fantastic week this week. Leave a comment and tell me what kind of things you’ve been up to.Β  I’ve been in school painting the corridors. It’s looking much brighter than before and I can’t wait for you all to see it 😍😍

Last week, I wrote all of your reports and I felt really emotional writing them. I loved remembering all the fun times we had this year and I was just so proud of each of you when I thought back to all you have achieved this year. ❀️❀️

Here is a writing task which I thought would be fun. You could write this as a short story – maybe about 4 paragraphs. Write it on paper or on an app on your iPad, whatever you prefer. When I think about a superpower for right now, I would probably want a power that could help me banish Covid-19 so that we could get back to school for the last couple of weeks before summer. πŸ€—πŸ₯°

In your story, write what superpower you want, what the superpower allows you to do, why you want it and what you would do with it. Be creative and use your imagination with this short story!

I found a couple of fun science experiments for you to try too. I tried to choose experiments with materials that you might already have in the house or are cheap to buy. Don’t worry if you don’t have these things in the house, we will carry out these experiments when we return to school.

If you do carry out any of these experiments, take pictures and send me them please so that we can all see the results.Β

Have a great day guys. Try to get outside for some fresh air and exercise.Β

Sending you all lots of love,Β

Reading and Number 🀩😊

Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope you’re all feeling good. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ

Thanks to those of you who have been commenting and staying in touch. I love hearing from you. ❀️❀️

Primary 7, I had sent a text to your parents asking you to do a video for our leavers event. Can you do this please and send it to me via WhatsApp? Just a short clip (no more than 30 seconds) saying what St Albert’s Primary means to you and maybe some advice for future P7s.

Here are a few tasks for today if you feel like completing them.

Literacy – Reading.

Maths – Number work.

Enjoy your day. I hope you’ll get outside for some walking for cycling. Remember to keep exercising as it’s goodΒ for yourΒ mind and your body. Missing you all, leave a comment and let me know how you are.
