Homework Week beginning 3rd September

We hope you’ve had a great weekend!

Here’s this weeks homework, well done everyone who completed their homework last week!  All the tasks can  be written up in your homework jotters, except for the Bug Club reading work.

Literacy:

Bug Club: log onto your bug club accounts (your login is the same as last year) and read your reading book.  Make sure to complete the tasks and answer the questions!

Spelling: practise spelling these common words. Choose five words and write them into sentences:

Numeracy

  1. Today is Tuesday.  What day is it tomorrow?
  2. Put these numbers in order from smallest to largest:

3.  Write these numbers in digits:

a)  Three hundred and twenty seven,

b) Five hundred and two.

c) One hundred and ninety five.

4.  Practise your number bonds:

a) 15 + _____ = 20

5. a) what number is 4 more than 20?

b) what number is 6 more than 13?

c) what number is 7 more than 7?

Health and Wellbeing

Did you know that you should eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day?  Write down in your homework jotter all the fruit and vegetables you eat for one of the days this week.

Primary Four Homework

Hi folks!

This year in Primary Four we are going to try to use as little paper as possible so that we are being sustainable and environmentally friendly.  So, Ms Newall and Miss Brooks will be putting homework tasks on the blog for you to complete.  You can write your work into your homework jotter and hand it in on Fridays to Miss Brooks.

Numeracy

Write out these calculations in your new homework jotter and work out the answer:

  1.  14 + 5 =
  2.  12 – 4 =
  3. 10 + 9 =
  4. 15 – 7 =

Complete the sequences:

6.        8, 12, 16, ____, _____

7.  Write down two ways to make the number 14.  For example, 12 + 2 = 14 and 17 – 3 = 14.  What other ways could you make 14?

8.  Answer this word problem:

Aisha has 5 pencils.  James gives her 7 more pencils.  How many pencils does Aisha have now.

Literacy

Rhyming word game.  Write down as many words as you can think of that rhyme with:

sat (for example, hat)

shake (for example, take)

kick (for example, pick)

run (for example, bun)

 

Health and Well-being

Write down five healthy snacks that you could bring to school.  Draw a picture of you eating your favourite healthy snack.
