French Curriculum 2023-24

Delivering a progression in French earning is an important part of the life and work of our school.  Within the Madras Cluster, we have an agreement on how to develop French across all our schools to ensure that the P7s leaving will have the same experience and learning so that there will be a common starting point in S1.

In 2023-24, all children in P1-7 will focus on these areas:

In P1-4, the focus will be on vocabulary and grammar points will be discussed as they arise but not be a main focus. P5-7 will be specifically taught the grammar points and will work towards being able to apply these in a short oral or written sentence or conversation and to identify them in an oral or written text.

Some of the resources and vocabulary we will be using in school are shared below for staff and parents to access.  Please check any links to Youtube  before they are used with children as adverts can vary.
