Celebrating Success

Our school shares and celebrates their successes regularly throughout the year.

Assembly

Every class plans and organises an assembly to share their successes with the whole school.  Pupils are encouraged to share their certificates, trophies and medals, to share videos of the of them practising a skill like painting, cooking or drawing, and to provide short demonstrations of Judo patterns or gymnastic skills.

Badminton Tournament

Mr McCallum runs a badminton tournament for Primary 7 throughout the year and the Badminton Champion is announced at our annual Prize Giving.

Big Book Brain Quiz

Primary 6 pupils enjoying competition in school to be selected for the Fife wide Big Book Brain Quiz organised by the library services.

Citizenship Cup

This is an award for a Primary 7 pupil, who staff believe have involved themselves in school life as much as possible, who is helpful to all staff, who has been a good example to others, someone who lives the school values, has an all round positive attitude and is a good ambassador for the school.

Curling

Mr McCallum runs several badminton tournaments for Primary 4-7 as afterschool clubs.  A senior and junior curling champion is announced at our annual prize giving.

Football

Mr McCallum runs several football clubs throughout the year for pupils from Primary 3-7 at lunchtime or after school.  He regularly enters his teams into local competition and the team enjoy having the opportunity to play against other local schools.

Learner of the Term

Once a term, pupils nominate the pupil in their class that they believe has been most like our Learning Superheroes – Challenge Charlie, Persevering Paula, Communication Cammy, Creative Claudia and Reflective Ruby.  The winning pupil’s face is put up on a display in the hall with their peers’ nominations surrounding them.

Music Festival

The Ukulele Club complete annually in the Music Festival in the not non-competitive classes and always receive excellent feedback from the judges.

Voices also compete annually in the Music Festival in the competitive choir classes and have won several Gold Awards.

Rotary Club

Every year the school enters a team for Primary 7 pupils into the local Rotary Club Quiz.  The school always places well and have won the Fife wide competition in 2018 and 2019.

Learning Superhero of the Week 

Pupils also awarded Learning Superhero of the Week at assembly, class teacher awards a certificate to a pupil who has demonstrated one of the four capacities—Confident Individual, Responsible Citizen, Effective Contributor and Successful Learner.  They also link how the pupil has been like one our school Learning Superheroes- Challenge Charlie, Persevering Paula, Communication Cammy and Reflective Ruby.

Sports Champion

After Sports Day, Mrs MacPhee counts up all of the points awarded to individual pupils during the event.  At Prize Giving she awards a boy and a girl Middle Sports Champion (P4-5) and she awards a boy and girl Upper Sports Champion (p6-7).
