Pupil Leadership

Our School Improvement Groups

At St Paul’s Primary School, every pupil has the opportunity to be involved in shaping and improving our school. Through our School Improvement Groups, children develop leadership skills, share their ideas and work together to make a positive difference.

Our groups encourage pupil voice, responsibility and teamwork, helping us live out our school values of Love, Respect and Honesty.

P1–P4 School Improvement Groups

Eco Group

Our Eco Group is working hard to make St Paul’s a greener school! This year, pupils are focusing on reducing plastic pollution and encouraging everyone to recycle more. Through initiatives such as the Ecocean Cleanup, they are learning how small actions can make a big difference to our planet.

Our Community

Our Community Group is helping to spread positivity, kindness and understanding throughout our school and wider community. Pupils are exploring the importance of building positive relationships, celebrating diversity and finding ways to make everyone feel welcome and included.

Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs)

Our Junior Road Safety Officers are helping to keep our school community safe! Pupils are learning about road safety, exploring ways to improve safety around our school and sharing important messages about being responsible road users. They are also looking at how we can make our school grounds safer for everyone.

Gardening and Outdoor Learning

Our Gardening and Outdoor Learning Group is exploring ways to make our outdoor spaces even better! Pupils are investigating how we can develop our garden areas, introduce new resources and create exciting opportunities for outdoor learning and play.

Health and Wellbeing

Our Health and Wellbeing Group is helping to create a calm, happy and nurturing school environment. Pupils are exploring positive mindsets, emotional wellbeing and how our surroundings can help us feel safe and supported. They are also developing ideas for calm spaces and resources that promote wellbeing across our school.

P5–P7 School Improvement Groups

Sustainability

Our Sustainability Group is taking action to support a more sustainable future. Using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, pupils are exploring global challenges and developing ideas to make a positive difference within our school and beyond.

St Paul’s Parish Pals

Our Parish Pals are strengthening the links between our school, parish and wider community. Through prayer, participation in Mass and community activities, pupils are putting their faith into action and exploring ways to support others. Their work reflects our Catholic ethos and our commitment to kindness, service and love.

Rights Respecting Group

Our Rights Respecting Group is helping to ensure that children’s rights are understood, respected and celebrated throughout St Paul’s. Pupils are working towards our Rights Respecting Schools Award, promoting pupil voice and helping everyone understand the importance of fairness, inclusion and respect.

Digital Leaders

Our Digital Leaders are helping to make St Paul’s a confident and responsible digital learning community. Pupils are exploring online safety, responsible use of technology and how digital tools can support learning. They are also developing ways to share their knowledge and skills with others across the school.

Sports Leaders

Our Sports Leaders are developing their leadership skills through sport and physical activity. Pupils are exploring what makes a good leader, promoting teamwork and fair play, and looking at ways to encourage more children to get involved in sport and active play.

Pupil Voice in Action

Our School Improvement Groups give every child the chance to have their say, take responsibility and contribute to positive change. Throughout the year, pupils will work together to turn their ideas into actions, celebrate their successes and share the difference they are making at St Paul’s.

Together, we are building a school where every voice is heard and every child can make a difference.
