This week in P3/4 we have been learning about persuasive techniques and how adverts persuade us to buy their product. We designed a new product and made a poster to advertise it using persuasive techniques like asking questions, stating how it will improve our lives, using slogans and giving special offers. We worked in pairs to design our product and make our posters.

In Numeracy, we reviewed lots of our learning from this year and we are going to do some revision and new learning now before the summer holidays.

In Art, we finished our Save Our Seas collage for the World Ocean Day competition. We learnt about how oceans and seas are being affected by litter and global warming and added some writing to our poster.

In PE, we practised our throwing techniques and precision to compete some target zone activities. Today, we played Go Yoshi! Children worked really well together in their teams.

In Health and Wellbeing, the P3s learnt about gender stereotypes and how these are out-dated and our sex shouldn’t prevent us from doing the things we want to. We thought about what we wanted to do when we are older. The P4s looked at how to stay safe online.

As part of our Social Studies learning, we learnt to give directions using language like left, right and straight on. We gave directions on a maze to a partner with a blindfold on and then used a map of St. Andrews to direct someone from the bus station to somewhere else.
