This week we have learnt about alliteration and completed some activities to help us think of alliterative sentences. We have created our own character and used alliteration, as well as other descriptive techniques like colour-matching and similes, to write a description about them. We had to think about their appearance and their personality.
In Health and Wellbeing, we carried out a survey of our Top 3 activities to keep us fit and healthy. We then made a bar chart to show our results. The most commonly chosen activity was swimming and the least common were netball, chanter and golf. We know that activities like these are good for our physical and mental health.
In Art, we drew still life tulips. We had to work hard to draw lightly with our pencils so we could make changes if we wanted to. We tried to draw what we could see in front of us rather that guessing. We used pastels to colour them and tried to show the different shades of colours.
For our topic, we had to map the Nursery Garden. We sketched it out as we walked around it and then took time to make sure everything was correct and made a key.
In PE, we started working on our throwing skills by practising throwing a javelin and a shot put as well as practising an under arm throw for bowling in rounders. We also had a station for doing some long distance running.
In French, we learnt the vocabulary for some sports in French. We practised saying ones we liked and which we didn’t.
In Numeracy, we have been practising dividing with remainders.
