P7 and Mrs Penman

Block One (August – December 2025)

Hello and welcome to the P7 school web page!  We are so happy to be back at Mountfleurie as we begin what promises to be a very exciting and memorable year. Throughout the year, we will take part in a wide range of experiences, both in and out of the classroom, that will challenge us and prepare us for the next stage of our learning journey. We look forward to celebrating achievements, building new skills, and making lasting memories together.  Here is what we have planned for Block 1.

Our Pathway of Promises and Branches of Brilliance:

As a class, we have been exploring our school values: SAFE, READY, and RESPECTFUL. Together, we have been thinking about the promises we can make to ourselves and to others to help us live by these values every day.  Our Branches of Brilliance give us a way to show how we are keeping these promises. Each week, we will have a new focus to work towards. When we achieve our focus, we will add our personally designed leaf to the Brilliance Tree.  By the end of the week, our aim is to have a beautiful tree, full of leaves, that celebrates our hard work and commitment to our values.

Topic:

Our topic this block is World War Two. Some of us have already touched on this topic in Primary 6 so they will be our experts and have helped us to choose some areas of the topic that they would like to learn about in more detail.  We have lots of exciting lessons planned that will cover curriculum areas such as literacy, numeracy, expressive arts, STEM and social studies.   We will also have a guest speaker in term two from the Anne Frank Foundation. Part of this theme will be focussed on our class novel this term which is Once by Morris Glietzman.
