Care and Welfare

Your child’s care and welfare is a wide ranging topic.

Child Protection

All children and young people in Fife have a right to be cared for and protected. We all have a part to play to ensure that you are safe and your needs are met. Here in Fife, we believe that “child protection is everyone’s job and everyone’s responsibility”.

The Fife Child Protection web pages offer more detail on child safety issues than is covered here.

Your Child’s Wellbeing

Parents and Carers wishing to find out more about their child’s wellbeing can access information on alcohol, drugs and smoking on a number of information rich websites.

In particular,

  • ParentZone has a Health and Wellbeing section covering Alcohol, Bullying, Drugs, Sexual Relationships, Smoking and other issues
  • Childline covers a wide range of advice

To help support your child’s education there are websites offering Homework Help and ideas on how to foster Study Skills.

Below is Fife Council’s leaflet detailing “Our five ways to wellbeing”. The leaflet gives some web links for lots of ways to keep connected, keep active, give, take notice and learn in Fife.

Headlice

Head lice and nits are a common problem in young children. Below are the current guidelines issued by Fife Council and NHS Fife.
