Margaret O’Connell- Support for Learning Teacher

Miss O’Connell will  provide staff and children support to ensure that the needs of all learners are met.

This will involve working collaboratively with the class teacher to provide some targeted support for groups or individuals, providing one-to-one tuition for individuals or offering advice on strategies and approaches to meet the needs of groups or individuals in class.

Support for parents is another area of importance with consideration of the provisions under the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004.

  1. Providing consultancy support 
  2. Assessment/ Observations/ Reporting 
  3. Staff development 
  4. Teaching co-operatively with class teachers 
  5. Direct teaching
