McLean Primary School was opened in 1896, by Andrew Carnegie. The building has been modernised and developed over the years to include classrooms and open plan areas, a library, an ICT suite and a multi-use games area (MUGA). A purpose built nursery is also set within the school grounds.
McLean Primary offers a warm welcome to pupils, staff, parents and visitors. In an atmosphere conducive to learning, staff aim to nurture mutual respect, shared responsibility and by working in partnership for each child to achieve their full potential. Our shared school values are ‘Creativity, Leadership, Ambition and Nurture.’
We promote an open door policy and are always happy to discuss any aspects of the work going on in school. We value the contribution all parents/carers make to our school and have an active Parent Council/ Parent Partnership.
