On Friday 6th November, the Friends of Kirkcaldy High School hosted another fantastic Race Night, bringing together former pupils, families, staff, friends and supporters for an enjoyable evening of fun, fundraising and friendly competition.
Guests enjoyed six exciting races, with plenty of cheering, good-natured rivalry and successful winners throughout the night. Events such as this play a vital role in supporting the work of the Friends of Kirkcaldy High School, helping to raise funds that benefit pupils and support activities across the school community.
The success of the evening would not have been possible without the generosity of our race sponsors:
- Race 1 – Royal Eyes Cup, sponsored by PLM Optometrists
- Race 2 – The Bunker Handicap, sponsored by the Clued-Up Project
- Race 3 – The Apprentice Stakes, sponsored by the Community Trade Hub
- Race 4 – David’s Derby, sponsored by David Torrance MSP
- Race 5 – The Rotary Run, sponsored by Kirkcaldy Rotary Club
- Race 6 – The Family Steeplechase, sponsored by Jayne Preece and Family
We would also like to thank the businesses and organisations who supported the event through programme advertising and sponsorship:
- Dunnikier Park Golf Club
- Music in Kirkcaldy
- MAR Scaffolding (Scotland) Ltd
- PLM Optometrists
- Clued-Up Project
- Community Trade Hub
- David Torrance MSP
- Kirkcaldy Rotary Club
Special thanks also go to everyone who donated prizes, purchased race entries, attended the event, cooked, and served the food (loved the stovies, and macaroni!), helped organise the evening, sold tote tickets and supported the Friends of Kirkcaldy High School in any way.
The Friends of Kirkcaldy High School continue to play an important role in supporting the school, encouraging links between former and current members of the Kirkcaldy High School community, and raising funds that enhance opportunities for our pupils.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the Race Night such a success. Particular thanks go to Big Stevie Entertainements for running the show.
