Welcome

A very warm Buckhaven welcome to all of our new Primary 1 pupils for August 2021.

We are excited to share some information we hope helps you and your family to get ready for starting school.

During this final term in Nursery we would usually spend some time together, getting to know more about each other. As things are a little different this year, we hope this helps you to learn more about us. As it stands at the moment, we have been advised that we must carry out transition activities in a virtual manner but we will let you know if this changes. We will do our utmost to ensure that you and your child feel supported as they take their first steps into school.

Primary 1 staff

This year we will have a P1 and a P1/2 class in our school. We are still in the process of finalising classes but please rest assured, we will let you know who your child’s class teacher is as soon as possible. At the moment we can confirm our P1 staff and within the next couple of weeks will be able to share with you more information about the P1/2 staff. Please check our SWAY around the middle of June for more information.

Transition Information Part 2

Here is a link to Part 2 of our SWAY series for transitioning into Primary 1. The focus in this SWAY is all about school uniform. You can access our school uniform supplier under the parental engagement section of our website where you can then order online. There are also some exciting transition activities to help you get ready for Primary 1 in August.

Transition Information Part 3

Here is a link to Part 3 of our SWAY series for transitioning into Primary 1. It will let you meet some other important staff like our janitor and office staff. The main topic discussed in this SWAY is lunchtime. It will answer questions about where the children have lunch and some helpful information on where to register for and choose your lunch menu.

Meet the teacher

It is the time of year where you get to meet your class teacher. Unfortunately, meet the teacher is virtual this year. There are two different SWAY’s, one for Primary 1 and one for Primary 1/2. These will let your child get to know a little bit more about their class teacher and the staff working with them. We look forward to seeing you all in August!
