Careers and Employability

The school places great importance on the destination of all pupils who leave Bell Baxter at the end of their school education. Pupils have access to staff who will be able to support them in their next steps.

Ms A. Flint (Careers Coach, Skills Development Scotland) – in school Monday – Friday.
Mr B. Lowrie (Careers Coach, Skills Development Scotland) – in school on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

There is a careers drop in session each lunchtime, from 12.30pm, in the Careers Room along the Maths corridor. Notices of employment, training, work experience and education opportunities will be highlighted on the Weekly Update and on the noticeboard outside Room 205.

Skills Development Scotland has launched a choices toolkit which aims to support pupils to make choices for their future career pathways.  The toolkit allows learners to connect subjects with potential career opportunities and relevant job profiles.  The toolkit can be access via the My World of Work website.
