House System

In March 2021, our P7s set up Balmerino Primary School’s House System. They worked hard as a team to decide of the names for our three house teams. They wanted names that would represent our local area and they decided to name the houses after local farms to reflect the importance of farming to our local and wider community.

Our three houses are:

Little Inch

Peacehill

Logie

Each house has a colour and the initial letter reminds us of our school catchment area:

Little Inch is Red which reminds us of Rathillet

Peacehill is Blue which reminds us of Balmerino

Logie is Green which reminds us of Gauldry

Each child in P1-7 is a member of a House, they earn points by going above and beyond in living our school values and by entering competitions. Our competitions promote all our school values but in particular teamwork and personal achievement. In the summer term, all our new P1 entrants are placed into the same house as their P6 buddy, who will become their P7 House Captain once the new school year starts.

In setting up the House system, our 2021 Primary 7s became the first ever House Captains of Balmerino Primary School and we thank them for their hard work, leadership and lasting contribution to our school.

We are also grateful to the Parent Council who have purchased three cups to be awarded each June to the winning house and to the runners up to celebrate all the achievements of the House team throughout the school year.

In 2021, the winning House was Peacehill.

In 2022, the winning House was Little Inch.

In 2023, the winning House was Little Inch.
