Balmerino Primary School and Nursery Class Dates for 2023-24

 

Tuesday 12th September – P1-7 Flu Vaccinations

 

Wednesday 13th September – Apple Day – All children are invited to come to school in apple colours (no uniform day). Please send £1 per child, if you can, to help cover the cost of the day. We will harvest the apples and the children will do associated activities.

 

Monday 18th September – P1 and 7 dental checks

 

Wednesday 20th September – P1-7 Parent/Teacher meetings 5-7pm

 

Friday 22nd September – Tempest Photographer in School to take individual and sibling photos

 

Tuesday 3rd October – P1-7 Parent/Teacher meetings 3.30-5.30pm

 

Friday 6th October

– Last Day of Term 1

 

Monday 23rd October – First Day of Term 2

 

Tuesday 31st October

– All children invited to come to school in a costume and to enter the pumpkin competition. Carve and decorate a pumpkin at home and bring it into school. Please pay a £1 entry cost as a donation to school fund and towards the cost of the prizes if you can though your entry will be counted if you can’t.

 

Friday 10th November – Inservice Training Day – School and Nursery closed to pupils

 

Tuesday 14th November – all P1-7 parents invited to come to school to do a Literacy and/or Numeracy Activity with their child.

 

Friday 8th December – Panto Trip to the Byre Theatre for all children – we will ask for a donation towards the cost of this nearer the time.

 

Thursday 14th December – All children will bring home a wrapped gift for a family member.

 

Friday 15th December – Final Dalguise Payment Due

 

Monday 18th December – Whole School Christmas Performance. Each family will receive 2 tickets for the performance in the afternoon (the capacity of the hall won’t allow for more). Other family members will be able to attend the dress rehearsal in the morning.

 

Wednesday 20th December

– Last Day of Term 2

– Christmas Parties – no uniform, come in your party clothes!

 

Thursday 4th January – First Day of Term 3

 

Friday 26th January  – P1-7 Ceilidh in the afternoon – 1 adult per family is welcome to join us, the capacity of the hall won’t allow for more unfortunately.

 

Tuesday 13th February – Pancake Day. All P1-7 children will get a pancake and drink at playtime. Please donate £1 towards the cost if you can. Nursery children will get a pancake in Nursery – no charge as this will be covered by Nursery contribution.

 

Wednesday 14th February – Inservice Training Day – School and Nursery closed to pupils

 

Tuesday 20th February – P1-7 STEM Afternoon – parents invited in to do a piece of STEM learning with their child.

 

Thursday 15th and Friday 16th February – School Holidays

 

Thursday 7th March

– World Book Day – All children invited to wear a costume.

 

Monday 11th March – P6/7 to Dalguise – leaving after lunch and getting back at approximately 3.30pm on Friday.

 

Wednesday 20th March – Parent Teacher Meetings 5-7pm

Tuesday 26th March – Parent Teacher Meetings 3.30-5.30pm

 

Thursday 28th March

Monday 15th April

Thursday 9th May – Inservice Training Day – School and Nursery closed to pupils

 

Wednesday 29th May – Sports Day – all parents and family members welcome to join us on the pitch from 1.30 onwards

 

Monday 3rd June – School Holiday

 

Tuesday 11th, Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th June – P7s on three-day Transition visit to Madras

 

Friday 21st June – P1-7 and pre-school Nursery Children bringing reports home

 

Tuesday 25th June – Summer Fair and End of Year Event – all parents invited to come to school for this in the afternoon. If it should rain, we will move into the hall and may need to restrict the number of parents coming. Fingers crossed it will be dry! P7 parents will hear their child’s memories whatever the weather!

 

Thursday 27th June – P1-7 Woods Day

 

Friday 28th June – Last day of term 4
