🐣 Join Our “Paint Your Own Easter Egg” Competition 🐣

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are excited to announce a fun and creative activity for Balmerino students this Easter! Balmerino Parent Council is hosting a “Paint Your Own Easter Egg Competition”, and we would love for all children to participate.

Here’s how it works:

  • Step 1: Grab an egg (hard boiled or fake – it’s up to you!), and let your child get their paint brushes ready. They can design the most colourful, wacky, or imaginative egg they can think of!
  • Step 2: Submit the painted egg by 9am on Thursday 3rd April for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

🥚🐇🐣 Eggciting prizes will be awarded to the best designs in each class, so everyone has an opportunity to showcase their creativity! 🥚🐇🐣

We encourage every child to join in, from nursery to P7 and let their creativity flow. It’s a great way for them to celebrate the season and show off their artistic skills. All painted eggs will be displayed in the school, and winners will be announced during the school day. Children are free to use pens, paints or anything they would like to make their egg stand out.

Let’s make this a fun and colourful Easter!

We can’t wait to see all the wonderful designs. Please ensure your child’s painted egg is submitted by Thursday 3rd April at 9am.

Best regards,

Balmerino Primary Parent Council

Weekly Information 21st February

Dear parents/ carers,
Balmerino Primary are going to be one of the first schools in Fife to have a Heat Pump installed. This heat pump will begin being installed the week of the 24th March 2025. Please see the attached maps and site layout. This installation will take approximately 3 months and perhaps a little longer.
Our Nursery children will begin entering Nursery through the old porch door. The entry to this will be through a newly installed gate within the wall to the left side of the playground where children and families will walk along the path to the porch door. Nursery staff will meet you there and take the children to the Nursery. Parents and families can collect their child from this Porch at the end of the day and exit the school using the same route. The Current Nursery entrance will no longer be in operation and as you can see from the plans, the majority of the playground will also be out of use.
The school children will continue to use the bottom part of the playground and the garden area. Staff will communicate this with the children. The staff team at Balmerino will share the new break and lunch structure with the children and this weeks assembly on Friday will focus around the safety and new routines. Monday to Wednesday one ‘house’ will play in the garden area then on a Thursday p1 to p4 will play in the garden area and a Friday p5 to P7. This new routine is to allow all children the chance to play in the garden area and enjoy the outdoor space. There will be one member of staff in bottom playground and one member of staff in the garden area to ensure our children are kept safe.  I will not allow the work to begin until all the agreed measures are in place and the children have access to the garden and Nursery.
This is a very exciting time for our school but the children’s safety comes first. Please could you talk to your child/children about the changes and ensure they know how to keep themselves safe? We will of course do the same in school. Thanks for your continued support.
Kind Regards
Katie Mitchell
