Our focus this is on:
Learning, Teaching and Assessment: Improve the quality and effectiveness of learning and teaching through the context of literacy across P1-7
Wellbeing for all: Relationships & Regulation Strategy – An inclusive approach to managing distressed behaviour and supporting children to regulate emotions. We know that while children are in a state of stress the executive functioning skills are inhibited. By creating calm and safe learning environments children are in a better place to improve these skills therefore making them ready to learn.
Curriculum pathways and planning: We have a significantly different team for this session. This is an opportunity to revisit our curriculum, what we plan for and what we need to deliver high quality learning experiences across the curriculum
Our Pupil Equity Fund is used to support groups of children who face significant barriers to learning, attending school and issues related to wellbeing. Our focus detailed in our school improvement plan is to:
Raise attainment in literacy
Improve attendance
Improve readiness to learn
We have an established Parent Wellbeing Group who are supporting the improvements in wellbeing, inclusion and equality.
