Our Topic: Marvelous Mexico 🇲🇽
Our current topic has taken us all the way to Mexico! The children have explored the rich history, vibrant culture, and diverse geography of the country. They have loved discovering everything from ancient Mayan civilizations to modern-day Mexican traditions.
Numeracy: Mastering Decimals 🔢
In math, our main focus has been decimals. The class has been working hard on understanding place value, comparing decimal numbers, and practicing adding and subtracting them. They are doing a wonderful job applying these skills to real-world situations, like working with money and measurements.
Class Novel: Holes by Louis Sachar 📖
For our reading sessions, we have started our new class novel, Holes. The children are completely hooked on the mystery of Stanley Yelnats and his time at Camp Green Lake. We are using this fantastic story to look closely at character development, predict plot twists, and expand our vocabulary.
