Parent Association

The PA committee’s role is to run events and other activities to raise funds for the school. The main events to bring in the bulk of the funding are the Summer school disco, the Halloween Monster Mash and the Village Christmas fair. We also organise the Christmas cards, run pop-up playground tuck shops and support school events with refreshments.

Most of the funds raised are used to subsidise school trips for each class but we also support funding requests from the school and examples in the past are books, net-books and garden works. Every year we also subsidise the P7 leavers’ hoodies. The most recent school funding request is a long term goal to replace the playground trim trail with more weather resistant equipment and grounds.

The current PA committee is about to lose some long term members so we are on the look out for new people to join. As a small committee we rely heavily on volunteers for running events and we have been focussing our efforts on events where the children will get the most enjoyment. Gaining some additional members would be a great opportunity to run some new social events that could help to contribute to the school’s long term funding target.

So if you have a group of friends who would enjoy running events together or are looking to meet new people or you want some experience of helping on a community committee- then please get in touch with the current PA chair- Lesley Makena -lesleymakena@yahoo.co.uk.

Thank you to all the volunteers, teachers and committee members who continue to support the PA.

The next PA event is a big favourite- the kids only School disco in June! More details to follow.
