We also took Zap on a walk to the Main Street in Camelon.  He wanted to see the kind of shops we had in the local area.

We saw Patricks the Butchers, the Chinese Takeaway, the chemist, the chippy, the bakery, the DIY shop, the newsagents, the opticians and the cafe.

We went in the chemist to see what it sold.  We saw toothbrushes, medicines, toothpaste, baby food and nappies, first aid kits, lipsalves, soap, shampoo and vitamins.

We also went on to the bakery to see what it sold.  We saw birthday cakes, drinks, sausage rolls, chocolate eclairs, cream cakes, sandwiches, doughnuts, fruit cakes, steak bakes and bread.  They looked yummy! – Erin

We had no money so we couldn’t buy anything!

P6 Rainforest Topic

Primary 6 have been learning about the rainforest for our new topic. We have been put into groups and we made our own explorers that were going to the rainforest with Dr. Wilbur Jones. We have made our classroom into a rainforest with trees and animals. We have learned that there are lots of animals, waterfalls and plants in the rainforest. The rainforest is a huge place but the biggest one is in Brazil and it’s called the Amazon rainforest. There are lots of people living in the rainforest, over 200 million people. In art we made rainforest people with Mrs Millard.

P7 Tom Kitchin Trip

On Friday the 1ST March primary 7 went to Tom’s Kitchin’s restaurant in Edinburgh. We were there because were won The Eco Schools One Planet Picnic competition out of the whole of Scotland.  Tom told us about his childhood and why he likes Scotland.  He told us that he loved cooking and he only uses in seasonal and locally produced foods. In the restaurant some of us got to taste an oyster and we all tried rhubarb.  The rhubarb was yummy!  We feel really lucky that we had this experience and will spread the word about local and seasonal foods!
