On Remembrance Day we had a 2 minute silence, wrote poems, created poppy pictures in art and made poppies with Playdough.
We also had Ellie and Robyn show us photos of a family member who was injured during his time in the army & The children discussed some stories that they had heard from family members.

We’ve been learning Scottish Dancing with p4-7.

So far we have learnt the Canadian Barn Dance, The Military two-step, Strip the Willow and The Virginia Reel!

We watched an Author’s live last week with the Sgoil Araich and listened to he Gruffalo being read in both Gaelic and Scots. We even learnt some new words in both languages!

Chaidh sinn cuideachd gu clas 1-3 Beurla agus bha sinn ag ionnsachadh ainmean na diofar seorsa aimsir dhaibh anns a’ Ghaidhlig.

We’ve been working on multiplication and Division in Maths Recently

Here are some of the activities:

We were learning about Resistance in art this week.

We created raindrops and puddles with white oil pastels and painted over it with watercolour paints to reveal a rainy day!

The children enjoyed the process so much that they have been creating their own resistance paintings at the art table in our class.

This Week Jenna was teaching us about the left and right side of the heart, all while keeping our hearts healthy by running around!

The left side pumps blood around the body and the right side pumps blood to the lungs so that it can get more oxygen!

The class were experimenting with water and ice this week.

They were using different methods to see how quickly they could melt the ice.

this week we learnt about Bonfire safety, writing poems about Bonfire night as well as doing some bonfire night -related artwork. Some of Primary one’s maths was even firework themed!

This week’s glittery tuff tray activity was for firework themed ‘mark-making’.
