S1 Mandarin
Over the course of S1 all classess will have a 3 week block of Mandarin lessons during their French periods

Successful Day 1 for our new S1 Pupils
S1 pupils enjoyed their first day at St Ninian’s High School.
Pupils received copies of their Timetables, cafeteria pin number and ICT login details.
Further information was issued to pupils regarding their data check and National Entitlement Card.
S6 Guides were assigned to each alpha class to escort pupils to and from their classes.
Please ensure that all belongings especially blasers and PE kits are labelled with pupil name.
Pupils can purchase a school diary at Interval and lunchtime -£3
Pupils will attend a Co- curricular showcase to find out about clubs and activities next Wednesday afternoon

Inspection of St Ninian’s High School
Please find attached the letter prepared by HM Inspectors following the inspection of our school:
The Summarised Inspection Findings (SIF) have also been published today.
The letter and SIF are available on the Education Scotland website at https://education.gov.scot/.
The Director of Education has been sent the letter which has been distributed, to senior officials, the convener of the Council’s Education Committee and the local councillor.
The letter and SIF are accessible online for staff, members of the Parent Council, parents and carers and other interested members of the public. The DHTs will bring the letter to the attention of their Year Group.
A paper copy of the letter and SIF is available from the school office.

Primary 7 Parents’ Information Evening – Tuesday 14 May 2019
Our Primary 7 Parents’ Information Evening will take place on Tuesday 14 May at 7pm.
This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to obtain important information for next session and to meet staff from all departments.
We look forward to welcoming as many young people (in school uniform) and parents as possible.

Primary 7 Induction Day – Wednesday 22 May
All pupils should report to their Primary School at normal start time to be registered. All pupils will then travel together to St Ninian’s High School.
Arrival at St Ninian’s High School: 9.15am
Welcome and Introduction: 9.30am – 9.45am
Session 1: 9.45am – 11.30am
Group 1 – Half pupils to Mini School Day (Games Hall)
Group 2 – Half pupils to Physical Education (Sports Hall)
Lunch: 11.30am – 12.15pm
Session 2: 12.15pm – 2.00pm
Group 1 – Half pupils to Physical Education (Sports Hall)
Group 2 – Half pupils to Mini School Day (Games Hall)
Session 3: 2.00pm – 2.30pm

Important Information
- All pupils should report to their primary school at normal start time to be registered
- All pupils will then travel together to St Ninian’s High School.
- Pupils should arrive in school wearing PE kit (primary school kit)
- Bring a waterproof/sun cream for outside activities – weather dependent
- Bring £2 for lunch – Food will include options such as chicken burgers / hot dogs / sausage rolls / pizza, a snack and a drink.
- If there are dietary requirements pupils may bring a packed lunch.
- Please do not give your son/daughter nuts or products that contain nuts so as to avoid triggering any severe allergic reactions amongst any of the children.
Pupils who are joining St Ninian’s in August and do not attend St Cadoc’s, St Clare’s St Joseph’s or Our Lady of the Missions should report to our school office on arrival (9.15am) and be collected by parents from the forum at the end of the day (2.30pm).
