Primary 7C started off with a bang at Safety in the Park. We learned how to deal with a variety of situations we may come across in our lives. We learned how to be safe on the internet, how to prepare for an emergency and the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.
Noah, “I enjoyed learning life skills. My favourite activity was the cycling accident because it was fun and we blamed the driver at first.”
Evie, “My favourite activity was the Beer Goggles as I learned how to be responsible with alcohol.”
We reminisced with our parents and grandparents about our First Day at School and wrote a recount of the event. We then moved on to writing a number of spooky stories, focussing on characterisation and setting.
Michael, “It was fun to think back to when I was so young.”
Flynn, “I enjoyed remembering being in Primary 1.”
We had lots of fun (LOL) completing Algebraic equations and tackling angles and bearings in Maths!
Brendan, “I understand it now and it can be fun!”
Our first Art activity was creating pastel drawings of Mr McLaughlin AKA ‘Shrek’! We used a grid system to create these drawings and we will be transferring these skills to create portraits soon.
Kelsie, “I learned how to shade with pastels and make a drawing look realistic.”
We began preparations for Confirmation by discussing the importance of a name and are in the process of researching our chosen saint. We then shared our findings with our peers.
Christina, “I have chosen St Teresa of Calcutta. I really like what she did with her life.”
We chose to study China as our Social Studies topic. We used the Atlas to investigate this huge land.
Abby, “It’s interesting to see how different to Scotland and China are.”

We are now moving on to looking at balanced discussions in preparation for our trip to Sky Studios in December. We will be producing a news report on ‘Social Media.’

Our new topic is World War 2- The Home Front.
