Physiotherapy Work Experience Event

I have been very aware that Covid-19 has meant that many of my colleagues and I have been unable to offer any work experience to school pupils who are considering physiotherapy as a career option.  With this in mind, I have organised an online event to give everyone the opportunity to learn a little more about physiotherapy from physiotherapists. We have a panel of four fully qualified physiotherapists and one current physio student and between us have a good mix of NHS and private practice experience as well some work with sports teams.  We will be able to give some insight into all areas of physiotherapy’s wide-reaching remit.  The format of the evening is going to be very informal – we will all chat about our own experiences and day to day life in physiotherapy as well as how we got into it (we seem to cover a fair mix on that too!) and also plan to open up to any questions pupils and/or parents/guardians may have.  The event is going to be on Facebook live and so we will be able to take questions on the night but if anyone would like to submit any questions in advance, they are more than welcome to by emailing jenny@jennydrysdalephysio.co.uk. Thursday 18th March 2021 7pm Facebook Live, @Jenny Drysdale Physiotherapy Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like any more details or if I can help in any other way.

Legal Careers Events Invitation: Wednesday 24th of February at 6pm

The University of Strathclyde Law Society is hosting a series of speakers of the coming weeks. These are designed to showcase the careers available to students studying law. Many of our committee members left school to begin studying law at university without a full understanding of the careers open to them upon completion of their studies. Therefore, we would like to invite your students to our events to understand what a potential career in law could mean for them.   We understand it may seem a little daunting to attend a university event while still at school, however, we think it would be great for your students to discover the possibilities that a career within the law holds, prior to committing to their studies. There is no obligation for them to turn cameras/microphones on or participate in any way, additionally the event will not be recorded. Broadly, we think it would be an interesting opportunity for students to hear from those that are established within the legal field and hear of their real experiences, unlike a university open day or generic careers session.  The first of our events is taking place on Wednesday 24th of February at 6pm. Titled, ‘What can I do with my Law Degree?’, your students will have the opportunity to hear from four established professionals within the legal field. Our guests will discuss the path to their career, as well as answer questions. We look forward to welcoming: Sheriff Tony Kelly Matthew McGovern Fiona Armour Catherine Dyer CBE  We ask that your students register their interest using the following link – https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/what-can-i-do-with-my-law-degree-tickets-141818999445?utm-medium=discovery&utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&aff=escb&utm-source=cp&utm-term=listing
