ScotRail are recruiting for a modern apprenticeship in customer service – full details below MODERN APPRENTICESHIP – CUSTOMER SERVICE It’s time to board your journey to success and be part of our On Train Team offering fabulous customer service. Job Overview You will undertake a Customer Service Modern Apprenticeship and be part of our On Train Hospitality team. The role will include operating the catering trolley to provide customers with food and beverage options, promoting deals, replenishing stock at one our depots to ensure the cart is offering maximum choice for our customers and helping with customer queries on train and in the station environment. You will be responsible for reporting sales, managing cash and card transactions. The role will involve the use of a portable ramp, which weighs up to 15kg, for loading /unloading a Hospitality trolley. What you can expect from your apprenticeship? You will be spending the start of your apprenticeship in our training academy learning about ScotRail, the on train catering role and taking part in e-learning and various training activities. You will be given a dedicated assessor who will provide full support while you work through your customer service qualification. Upon completion, if you have impressed us with your attitude, behaviour and skills you could be offered a permanent role. You can enjoy the benefit of free rail travel on our services for you, your partner and any dependents from your first day, and reduced rate travel for across the UK. What are we looking for? You will have relevant skills, qualifications and/or experience at SCQF Level 4 (National 4). Environmental Sector – Work Experience

Change works and the Social Enterprise Academy have established a partnership to provide twelve young people from across Scotland with a week-long work experience in the green economy.  Changeworks & SEA Work Experience Week 2023 The work experience week is designed to provide insight into the wide range of work available in the environmental sector. Young people will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience that will inspire environmental responsibility and steps towards employment in the sector. The young people will interact with different departments across Change works, either undertaking practical work experience, or having the chance to talk to staff from the department about their role and pathways. The young people will also work together in groups on a research project into green jobs. At the end of the week, they will have the opportunity to present their project and share their findings.   The work experience will be virtual, with the possibility of a site visit in person on the last day. It is scheduled to run 13 – 17th of February 2023. The work experience will be available to twelve young people from across Scotland. Site visits will be co-ordinated in Edinburgh. The Social Enterprise Academy will select the young people who take part in the programme. ScotRail – Graduate Apprenticeship in Finance

Please see below for details of a fantastic graduate apprenticeship in finance with ScotRail advert for their Graduate Apprenticeship in Finance which is now live. The successful candidate will be employed full time with ScotRail on a 5-year Graduate Apprenticeship with the degree being delivered in partnership with RGU and ICAS.  The post will require the successful candidate to have grades of 4x B Highers including Maths and a business-related subject due to the requirements being placed on ScotRail by the awarding bodies. The role will be based in Glasgow with travel to RGU across each year. BAE Systems Naval Ships – Apprenticeship window now open

We are delighted to announce that the 2023 Apprenticeship window is now open! BAE Systems Naval Ships are recruiting circa 200 different intermediate, advanced, higher and degree apprenticeships across our Glasgow sites. https://www.baesystems.com/en/careers/careers-in-the-uk/apprenticeships Recruitment Information: Complete an application form online at baesystems.com/apprenticeships between November 1st and February 28th, 2023 Complete the online gamification testing you will be sent after your application has been submitted.  You will have 7 days to complete these.  Keep an eye on your junk mail if the link does not appear in your inbox. You will be asked to complete an online interview.  This will be using a system called Hireview and will be pre recorded questions. Practice speaking into a camera in order to prepare for the potential ‘virtual’ interviews You will be notified if you have been successful in progressing to the next stage, this may not be until after the 28th of February so do not worry if you don’t hear anything before then. An interview/ assessment centre will be the next stage and should take place in April 2023 Successful candidates will start their programme in August 2023 Top Tips: Take the time to read the job specifications and be clear on the role you are applying for- for example an electrician role is a marine electrician not a domestic electrician and our joiners work mainly with metal not wood! After the 28th of February, role profiles will disappear from the website.  We would recommend copying the detail to a word document to enable you to refer to details in the job description before an interview When doing the online tests, take the time to read all instructions fully ensuring you are clear what is being asked.  Try not to panic with the timings.  On average there is 6 minutes to complete each test. Do not leave it until the final day to submit your application in case of any IT issues! Make use of the word count on your application form.  Do not write one word answers! There is an NHS Virtual Work Experience Programme commencing on Sunday 2nd October. Students considering a career in the Allied Health Professions (AHP) are encouraged to secure their place on the programme as soon as possible.
