This week in Primary 2.

Primary 2 have been super busy over the last week and lots of  learning has taken place.

In Maths and Numeracy, the cubes have been working on measurement.

The cuboids have been learning about directions and have been finding lots of right angles in the classroom environment.

The cylinders and spheres have been working very hard and have spent time creating their own symmetry.

The speed writing station within the literacy zone was popular this week. This is where we can practice our words of the week.

Some children also wrote wonderful stories during free play.

We have had lots of opportunities to share our learning and creativity with our peers. During this time we work on our presenting skills as well as being a quality audience.

Well done for all your hard work over the last week. Have a lovely long weekend P2.

So far in P2…

So far in P2, we have been super busy exploring our new classroom and spending lots of time in each of the zones.

In the creative zone, lots of wonderful pictures and creations have been produced.

In the construction zone, lots of interesting models have been designed for different purposes.

The numeracy zone is always busy with lots of exploring and play based learning occuring.

The Cubes maths group have been learning about tens and units.

The Cylinders maths group have also been learning about time.

In literacy we have been learning lots of new sounds in phonics and have been working hard on our targets each day. Some of these have involved practising handwriting, writing common words using capital letters and creating words using magnetic letters.
